Ireland has always been internationally known for its music and even more so today with the renaissance in traditional music and dance, ignited onto the world stage by the phenomenal success of Riverdance. As the featured soloist for over eight years in this groundbreaking show, Máirín Fahy thrilled audiences world wide with her white hot fiddle playing before returning to her beloved west of Ireland, where she combined creative forces with her husband and fellow Riverdance cast member Chris Kelly to form the unique Irish experience ‘Trad on the Prom’ to show case the very best of Irish contemporary music, song and dance.
Máirín is joined on stage by her world class band featuring multi-instrumentalist Yvonne Fahy on accordion and bodhrán (Irish hand drum), the haunting music of the uileann pipes, whistles and bouzuki performed by Gerard Fahy, concertina supremo Padraig Rynne and keyboard maestro Colm Henry.
